Merry Christmas! I hope you are finding a good way to celebrate with family and friends. 2020 has been an interesting year. I feel like I’ve got a lot to be thankful for. I’ve never been so glad that I retired from UPS. I endured thirty eight Christmases at Big Brown, and most of them weren’t very peaceful. I can only imagine what life is like in the delivery business these days. I was able to continue playing table tennis on a pretty regular basis. Thanks to Pierre, and all of the brave players who continued to train throughout the year. But, the year has not been without stress. If I see one more political commercial, I may lose whatever inner peace I’ve maintained.Â
I’ve learned that I see the world very differently than even some of my closest friends. Unfortunately, things might not be much better in 2021. But, as I considered what message would be appropriate for a blog post scheduled to come out on Christmas eve, I remembered the old Charlie Brown Christmas speech. Christmas is truly about the importance of the birth of one small baby, and peace on earth. I always liked the way Linus says it. I couldn’t say it any better.
